Unemployment rate & nonfarm payrolls — Bureau of Labor Statistics via FRED

About This Metric

The unemployment rate (UNRATE) represents the percentage of the labor force that is unemployed. Nonfarm payrolls (PAYEMS) measure the total number of paid U.S. workers excluding farm and government employees. Both are published monthly by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
